I have had the whole lot of poster and graphics exhibitions; my last personal painting-art exhibition was in September 1991; after that, I just ceased to have any care for any offers I ever got to have my works exhibited. I plunged myself, wholeheartedly, into my AVANT-GARDE world (like the Little Hedgehog into the mist). As a matter of fact, I have no liking for any exhibitions - especially group exhibitions.
Now, AVANT-GARDE is a very variegated thing. It can be: -Vague in meaning and non-focused in outlook -Primitive -Simply inadequate, with paint just sprinkled about, all over the canvass -Something-daubed-on-the-canvass, calculated to meet the exhibition owners' standards -Customer-specified expressly, also to meet the exhibition owners' standards -Well-done to meet the market standards And, finally, HARD AVANT-GARDE SURE OF ITSELF AND ITS WAYS, which really has something to say This very HARD AVANT-GARDE is where I have been living in since 1987. Sure, it is no universal pet, for it is neither soft nor sweet, - it is HARD. Any artist should be expert in his skills - be able to draw and paint (from life included), to make designs and illustrations. Skills are indispensable to the artist, for they enable him to earn his peace of bread and win the affordability of longed-for independent night flying in the AVANT GARDE Ocean. I hardly pay any heed to art critics; after all, they are human, too; they also have their bread to win; in the nature's scheme of things, they are a sort of gnats: biting you a lot, but without any painful effects… The only genuine critic is time; it is it, and it only, which can and will make truthful judgments of everything. As to all these exhibitions and presentations, they all are just a lot of fuss, glamour and applauding (somebody is just eager to look high brow). Exhibitions should be virtual, so that everybody could see them and purchase any work he likes directly from the author. Today, things are just like these: everybody is his own 'DIRIGEUR' (=music orchestra conductor) (that is, DIRIGIBLE) Time is sending its salutations to everybody - SALUTATIONS OF TIME. Comprehensible not to everybody, of course; those, who did catch the meaning, will not fail to understand my works, too. |
